This book was the culmination of one of Berni’s long-held dreams — and Epic Comics got to publish it! Well, okay, it’s officially a Marvel Graphic Novel. But the project went through our office. I got to work with Berni to place the illustrations relative to the text, and I still have Stephen King’s phone number in my old Rolodex. It was then, and still remains, a highlight experience.
Laurie that is awesome. I had no idea you worked on that. I am absolutely amazed at the important contributions you made to this industry. You’ve been so low key about it all.
I emailed a prominent woman writer about your post, and though she had been reading comics for years, she had never heard of you. What a gyp! You ought to be getting more props.
I hope you will write some more memoirs. I know people would love to know more about your work.
