on November 4th, 2009Detail of a digital portrait I am working on.
LOTS of work to do and so little time to spare for these pictures. Like the other digital portraits (click on CAST above,) this was drawn freehand in Photoshop. I need to practice my digital skills and these pieces are a good way to do it.
I am working on some conceptual art right now for a TV show in development, and every day I regret not being more digital savvy. This stuff would be WAY easier with more chops. Even so, I’ve done about 1/3 of the work digitally.
I think I’m going to need another year of practice though. Since most of my work does not require it, I just don’t have a lot of time to for fiddling about with new stuff. While I do need to practice my digital art, I need to move forward with new pages, too! Those are, as always, by hand.
Anyway, I am out of town. Play nice.

I just realized I had loaded the file as a CMYK image and not an RGB. Some browsers can’t handle that.

Wonderful art. I wish I could do that.. I draw now and again, but I never come close to anything like this.

Well, thank you, but this piece is far from finished. So, I hope you will like it even more when done! The previous character portraits had no costume detail or anything, but this one does, so it’s taking a little longer. And I haven’t been a good girl about time management lately. I chastise me publicly.
I also know better to post pics to the web in CMYK, so my bad! Sorry! Thanks for letting me know. I wondered why the upload was so slow!
As for the digital works, I have started about six new pieces, and am going to try to put in one full work day a week on my digital art. At only a little over an hour a day, I should make some progress with that.
Good looking lad, isn’t he? Some people have all the luck…
Especially when it comes to that Holy Grail thing! Next time that lucky fellow should buy a lottery ticket.
