Over at my portfolio website, a rarely seen painting for Tom Stillwell’s Hero Brigade.
Once again, we have a generous benefactor to thank for bringing the A Distant Soil blog to all you happy readers out there in webderland. Warm regards and appreciation to Cecil Newson, who writes:
“I’ve been reading some excellent prose for free for quite a few months now. If it had been an advice book on starting a small business (and sometimes it is) I’d have had to pay for it.”
Thank you. I am always delighted to hear the blog is of some help. Nice to know I am not crying into the wind over here.
And some more of my humble publishing offerings. These books feature either art or stories by me. Or both.

Well, if she’s Bast as in Bastet she’s not “fine” so much as she’s “hot” (literally) and she’s not technically black but more middle-eastern with a dark – ahem – tan. Sure, she might be a snugglepuss with Seren, but she can also be one mean kitty, especially if you’re a threat to someone she cares about. Who knew ancient Egyptian mythology could be so enlightening?
I don’t really think there’s “gender” there. More like “let’s play with our bodies and see what happens.”
