Ali Kokmen way over there at Random House sent me a boxload of very fine readable goodies, and for the life of me, I can’t find an address or email in this box to send a thank you note.
So, I will put it here on my blog…
THANK YOU, ALI!
Look, I grew you a flower.

Ali’s a great guy! (And his boss is aces, too.)
Try:
Random House
1745 Broadway
New York, NY 10019-4343
(Hey, Ali, howabout hiring Ms. Doran to illustrate a Merry Gentry GN?)
I know that block of Broadway. One of the few areas of Manhatten I DO know. Heh.
but very nice that Colleen got a box of goodies! Excellent.
Aw, Colleen, you just made my day.
Am duly scandalized at the thought that I didn’t include a note in the box, but I hope you become a convert to that particular genre
You did include a note, but there was no address on it. And in my final sweep of office cleaning, I put it in a pile of papers to sort, and have not found it yet!
So, I am the humbled one!
Thanks so very, very much for your kindness!
Aw, no problem. But I fully expect feedback on what Colleen Doran likes in such genre fare. Market research, don’t ya know…
Purty flower by the way. What kind is it? I do sometimes envy your, well, proximity to bona fide Nature.
Oh, and I should probably say to Torsten: (1) Thanks for the compliment, and, yes, my boss is aces (though I suspect that the person you think is my boss isn’t my boss…) and (2) Hey, I’d love for us to publish something Colleen works on, but I’m not editorial, and am consequently without the ability to make that happen.
That is a squash blossom. I love to dazzle people with the beauty of lowly vegetables.
Squash blossoms are also tasty battered and fried.
I can send you some fresh cut lavender, if you like. It’s in bloom right now. Or I can dry it for you, which would probably be best.
I’ve had several publishers ask me to write romance novels. Who knows, that may be my future!
