I thought I had a scan of the original painting on file, but I had to shoot this from the book, with extensive restoration in Photoshop. This painting predates the interior art of this scene from the book by well over a decade!

wow, yeah. One of the few that did cover duty to both comic versions.
Scared the bejeesus out of me when I saw it. One of my oldest recurring nightmares is being in space and having my air hose cut. BLAH!
With a little more tweaking in Photoshop, I think I could bring this one up to date. SO easy to get airbrush effects with Photoshop! I did all that by hand, back in the day. With ink and colored pencil!
And BTW, doesn’t the internet glow look pretty on those space pics?
