Not only is he fabulous, but he can sing as well! He played Jean Valjean in Les Mis in Japan!
The Chairman! Totally Emeris!
@Sue: cool, then he can play the part in ADS: the Musical too!
He’s so evil, he’s assaulting an innocent yellow pepper, with relish!
Hay Allan, I think I know where we can get some leftover musical musicians…
Kaga was not only Valjean, he also doubled as Javert. That’s right, he alternated both roles.
Dude is awesome.
@colleen XD are you thinking what I’m thinking, Pinky? Hey, some other comic’s loss is our gain, right? (and they might appreciate keeping their rights and getting paid and stuff…)
@ Arlnee- I didn’t know about Javert! That’s awesome!
I was SO obsessed with Iron Chef (Japan) when it was on Food TV that I skipped work to meet Hiroyuki Sakai when he came to the USA to promote Iron Chef cooking sauces. Luckily, I worked far from home, because I made it into the local paper the next day…
“We are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude. We forge our tradition in the spirit of our ancestors. You have our gratitude.”
I am deeply amused by everything about this thread. Life is good.
sue mc: I watched it from before Food TV, when it was on the international channel. Once they brought it over and started doing the really bad translation dubbing, I got fed up.
I refuse to watch the monstrosity that is Iron Chef America. Bobby Flay is a moron.
Sakai-san rules. And Morimoto is opening a restaurant here in Vegas, I forget which casino, but can’t wait.
Au Cuisine!
@Arlnee- I don’t have the International Channel- was it subtitled then? It would be interesting to see it that way. Personally, I didn’t mind the dub, but I know it would have bothered me to no end if I had seen it in Japanese first. I totally agree with your comments about Iron Chef America!
I once ate at Morimoto-san’s restaurant in Philadelphia, and it was amazing! After the meal was over, he came around to every table to ask how the food was, and to shake hands.
sue mc: yes, they were subtitled then. I have a very few of them on videotape. If I’d known what would happen once FN got a hold of them I would have taped them all…
