I liked everything about this cover except the Selwit. Really wish I had removed it.
I kinda like the Selwit on the cover, it brings in some of the story’s context, but that’s just me.
I like the idea of the selwit on the cover, but not the way I painted it. I botched it.
Well, I wish I could ‘botch’ that good!
I can see what you mean about the selwit. It immediately stuck out at me because it doesn’t seem to be in the proper perspective with the rest of the scene, as though it is standing up while laying down.
Yeah, it’s a very awkward shot. Bleh. I could always Photoshop it out completely, but whatever.
I know what it is! It’s a dream from Inception, and space got folded!
The only reason it doesn’t work is because you can’t see the back left leg of the selwit, even though it’s technically there if you look close. And because you can’t, the perspective appear thrown off, and the selwit seem out of sync with the rest of the scene. If that back left leg is made more visible, the whole thing self-adjusts.
actually the whole thing would make sense if and only if Seren sleeps standing up. But that may just be my wonkavision…
Fixing the selwit’s back leg would not solve the picture problem. The selwit is badly painted, period, as well as out of sync with the rest of the picture.
I don’t mind the perspective on Seren: it aids the storytelling.
I guess I will just have to return that painting for something more worthy of your efforts.
LOL! Naw, it’s still one of my favorites!
