Welcome to our new advertising account, which now serves our site to many clients. I hope they will pay for many comic pages, and I hope you will find some goodies of interest to you. I am deeply bummed that the software for printing coupons is not compatible with my system, because I love Betty Crocker.
The Facebook fan page is here.

Ah, I think I see why he needs Jason and Liana. You can’t control what you don’t dare touch.
Abuse, doesn’tstart to describe all Seren and those before him have endured. If every Ovanan lives for centuries, we may be talking several milenia of torture and mind rapes. The picture of the children in pain is very powerful. Don’t know why, but the image made me remember that blood freezing scene in “La vida es Bella” when the Nazi nurse calls the children to “shower” and you knew they would get killed.
And there, in one page, the revelation that Seren is far more moral than most all of his fellow Ovanan. I wonder if even Kovar (who I would consider having a sterling quality) would reach the point of feeling this social structure needed to be ended on his own. I can totally see him coming to it because he’s watched Seren and come to understand it that way.
But Seren comes to it both by training (from his predecessor) and experience. And for all his other weaknesses, but just being honest, he sells it.
I doubt the other Ovanians have any idea what kind of misery and horror go into being Avatar – they seem pretty wrapped up in themselves. The Hierarchy only seems to pick scum (Niniri must be either very, very old or very bipolar) so Kovar would never be picked to join them – he’s too good and too devoted to his religion. So Kovar would be just as in the dark as the rest of the planet.
I’ve always loved how this page flows. I’m reminded of the other scattered mentions through the comic of the hierarchy exerting Control over the Avatar and it makes me feel even more sorry for Seren.
And rereading these pages (specifically when Book 3 began) in daily format instead of in a lumped up hour or so period has actually reinforced to me in several ways just exactly how evil – truly is. Kind of makes me wonder what all they did to his predecessor that pushed him to such lengths.
Hey kids, remember no spoilers!
BTW, am I the only one who keeps getting that Super Bowl ad? It’s kind of amazing how color-coordinated it is with the site.
Yeah, I know that’s stupid, I”m just sort of fascinated by online ads. I don’t get out much.
I guess you get that Super Bowl ad only, I see the Halloween ad, and Buttersafe ad nd bluehost ads
Oh, sorry
I’ve had all 4 books for years… I often forget parts here and there and get all over excited when the online version gets to it…
I have a Halloween shop ad and a… life insurance ad? O_o;
(….. why does : x come up as an angry face? D: I wanted an embarrassed face not a mad face! )
The ads change periodically, sometimes every time you refresh. Sometimes not.
I see the super bowl ad. blue on top and red on the bottom. it does seem to match the background nicely until you scroll down to the red.
I also wanted to let you know that for some reason the site is logging me out if I click the “Comments” link for any of the posts on the main page. Then when I login it puts me back at the main page. I had to click the 10/15/2010 link on the “Recent Comments” list on the right hand side of the page to get to this page in a logged in state to post a comment. I am using Opera as my browser.
Nevermind. Now I can’t get it to reproduce the logout situation. must have just been a fluke. but it happened 3 times.
Deven, I’ve found that WordPress blogs (even my own ones!) occassionally and seemingly randomly kick me out when I’ve been away, and make me log in again. However, I don’t think I’ve run into the specific situation you describe.
It’s a WordPress fluke. It happens to me, too.
(Yay! Finally got to register!) This is why I love Seren. He’s flawed, he screws up as often as he succeeds, he’s self-absorbed, he’s wussy in some ways, but he never stops trying either to better himself or to help people. That’s an incredible thing even for a normal, healthy individual let alone one whose suffered the kind of horrific torture he has.
Thank you so much for signing up. You are most welcome here!
I look forward to hearing more from you. I truly enjoy reading what all of you have to say. I’ve learned a lot!
