I noticed that many people come to this site looking for a traditional Irish blessing for their Thanksgiving holiday, don’t read to the bottom of the post, and don’t realize what I wrote is not a traditional Irish blessing, but something I just made up. Because putting words together is what writers do.
And now there are people all over the world using my little prayer as their traditional Thanksgiving Irish blessing.
I was unable to get good quality reproductions of many of my earlier pieces. This was restored in Photoshop, and what the heck, I touched up the painting of the fire while I was at it. This was the cover of issue #17, as well as a trading card. Most of my early covers really weren’t good quality covers at all, but they look nice as pinups on the website.
I shipped out a number of packages to readers today, and had to drop a line to Image last week to send me another box of graphic novels. Thank you so much for ordering my books! And thanks to Image for coming through in my emergency. The books arrived super-fast from the Diamond warehouse, and I can meet all orders with no worries now.
Also, thanks to Jan Schroeder for her art purchase. She picked up a page from The Book of Lost Souls, another one of those projects that got away. I absolutely loved working on that book!

Very close to finishing up the Barry Lyga GN (VERY LATE,) and now Gone to Amerikay, the graphic novel I am working on with Derek McCulloch, is back on the docket.
I contacted Ken to ask if I could present some of his music here, and he was very generous. I’ll be posting more about Ken in future.
Originally from Ireland but Los Angeles based, the world got smaller when I mentioned his name to Kacey, and found out the gang at Theater Banshee thinks very highly of Ken’s music.
Ken’s agent Chris Wilson dropped me a line to let me know about an interesting production for which Ken did vocal work as well as music: Ray Bradbury’s “Falling Upward”.
A radio feature produced by This Way Out, the play was broadcast on over 200 radio stations.
“This Way Out” is the award-winning internationally distributed weekly LGBT radio program, currently airing on over 175 local community radio stations around the world, and on Costa Rica-based short wave station Radio For Peace International. The half-hour “magazine”-style program is produced in Los Angeles and distributed to stations via two free-access Web sites, www.radio4all.net and www.indymedia.org, as well as through Pacifica Radio’s Audioport and KU satellite, and via satellite in Australia on the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia’s ComRadSat.
You can subscribe to “This Way Out” broadcasts, or contact them about getting a copy of this special show. Enjoy a taste of Ken’s music, and this interview with Ray Bradbury!

I’m having massive troubles with my Hughesnet modem and was on the phone with a tech today, a very nice gentleman from India. We spent a lot of time waiting for stuff to cycle and reload, and while we did, we talked about Thanksgiving. He’s never had turkey, and I love Indian food. He’s in Mumbai, and I’m in Appalachia.
When we gingerly tossed everything together in our largest bowl (the recipe yielded more than 20 cups), we were amazed to discover one of the most handsome stuffings we’ve encountered…Moreover, the mixture was delicious, a nice balance of vegetables, meats and bold seasonings, just faintly, tonically sweet from the raisins.
We have a number of wild turkeys here on the farm. They have the run of the place, and are wont to come close to the house. Great, majestic birds, but camera shy.
Have a pic of a happy bunny among the apples instead.
