WAAAAAAAAAH!!!! How could you??? It’s just so gorgeous… How??? Sob sob sob…sniffle…
Panel 8: Why I love D’mer. Heee!!!
You mean you don’t love him for his butt?
his butt is too much for us, that’s why you used the word balloon to censor it. *snicker*
Actually, I would love to see more of D’Mer’s homeworld and his wife et all. All those guys in belly dancing outfits… *fans self* Hey… when you’ve seen a male bellydancer in real life do his magic. I should have taken pictures. He was gorgeous, dark skinned, and a perfect vision of D’Mer on Earth.
I have seen a male bellydancer in real life.
Wow.
Well, now I’ve managed to (sniff) get hold of myself, I have to say that panels 4 and 5 made me laugh. Some of us just have no idea how to handle emotions.
Panel 8 just made it for me, although when I read Kovar’s response I saw “attempt” and at first I thought “Do not tempt me to punch you, D’mer.” Which is probably what he’s thinking. And if D’mer is always the way he is in panel 8, I no longer wonder why his queen sent him off to Emeris. Seriously, think about it, SOMEONE had to pick a concubine to get sent off to who-knows-what sort of misery; it’s not like Emeris would be allowed to just go and choose like a kid in a candy store. Sort of how the first person to get downsized is the guy who doesn’t get along with anyone. I can just picture back on the home world:
“My queen, the Ovanians are requesting a slave to be ruthlessly abused by a S&M freak who doesn’t wear pants.”
“Let’s send the snarky one – that way we all win!”
Working very late. Very tired.
This post made my night!
Kovar’s awkwardness and discomfort in this page is balanced so wonderfully by Seren’s obliviousness and D’Mer’s smarmy enthusiasm. Truly one of my favorite moments in the entire series.
*chuckle* I have some foresight. However,
Zowie, hehehee.
Seriously, though, I can’t imagine the Kimarans willingly giving up any of their people. D’mer might have volunteered in much the way Kovar just volunteered. Perhaps he dreamed of becoming a spy, or more innocently even he wanted to adventure in foreign lands. Heck, even today we have kids running away from home to try to break into Hollywood. It doesn’t go well for many of them.
Yes, that is exactly what D’mer would do.
