I hope you enjoy this interlude.
This short story was originally published in very badly separated color. Our ethnic cast turned out green. I later edited the piece and added tones for B&W reproduction. Since my Photoshop tech skills are still in their infancy, I was unable to reproduce these pages here from the original art. The lettering was drawn on overlay.
However, the art is now digitally archived and available for sale.
Bob Pinaha is a much better letterer than I am, and I truly appreciate his work. I would gladly continue to work with a letterer, but the cost is prohibitive.
Drop over to my portfolio site and check out a previously unpublished Lord of the Rings painting.

Great umping bugglies! What on earth is she wearing???
I had the magazine this was published in. Always bummed me out that I couldn’t actually get any of the comics in it over here at the time. This is why the internet is very awesome.
@Zowie: She’s wearing easy access.
And her breasts look reasonably-sized, too. Perhaps they’re all air…
I don’t remember the designer, but I do remember this was based on a dress I saw in a magazine. Fur on the shoulders, black, lots of dark gold embroidery. I liked it.
Bast, honey, step away from the Beadazzler, just back away slooowly…
Ah, I remember this story! It was my introduction to A Distant Soil. Warp Graphics Annual, was it?
Yep! Originally in very unfortunate color! LOL!
