Uhhhhh… is Niniri flaking apart?
This is a truly fantastic page. One that ought to be taught and studied in story-telling classes.
OH GOD! CREEPIEST SCENE EVER!
She’s not flaking out. She’s just accustomed to thinking of anyone who isn’t a thousand years old as an infant in swaddling clothes. Probably most Ovanan are. Hell, when you get to be forty, you start thinking of twenty-year-olds as babies, so it must be that much more so for them. She’s a savage manipulator, and Seren was so mild and eager to please, she hasn’t really… recalibrated for Liana yet. Just watch.
Carla, Zowie didn’t know Niniri is speaking to Liana. I have the advantage of the books, wherein I didn’t have to wait for the next day.
Monday will be fun.
I’m glad it creeps you out. My work here is done!
Child abuse at its most glamourous. (Yes, I know what is coming.
)
Monday will be interesting.
I have the books and my memory doesn’t put Liana in this scene…. I might be misremembering (I’m at work… I’ll be pulling them out again tonight.)
But yes, this scene does a wonderful job of sending shivers down the spine…
I don’t know what comes next and I’m dying of anticipation!
To me the creepiest part is how wide Niniri’s eyes are in panel 11. She looks like she’s getting ready to eat them alive.
I don’t know… I actually like Niniri. Panel 10 especially. Can’t stand the rest of the lot. I suppose it’ll change soon enough though. Definitely rather be under her charge than any of the others.
PLEASE! Have some mercy on the new readers! No spoilers!
That said, your enthusiasm makes my little heart swell three sizes too big for its cage.
I have the books, and this scene is mind blowing when it plays out it full. Just wait and see!
All I can say, truly, is that the selwit has the right idea – Run, little selwit, RUN!
I LOVE love love this page in web comic format. My friends who I have gotten into ADS are all squirming because they have to wait all weekend to find out who Niniri is talking to, and I refuse to tell them. This pacing is delicious.
