Getting some of these tone sheets to scan cleanly has been a pain, so it’s really nice when a shot likes this comes out smoothly.
The page is really awesome, ’cause it sets the mood for what’s to come.
I agree with the screen tones scaning, when I published manga, it was one of the biggest headaches, the trick usually was to scan at 60dpi 70% black, and then play a little on photoshop to get them right, but still was a big headache to get them to look “just right”
Btw…there’s a very creepy add at the left side of your site…with a photo of beaten up girl tied in bondage gear…. just sayin’….
I’m not seeing that ad. Can you tell me which ad box it shows up in?
I’ve been scanning at 1200 dpi bitmap.
The problem is not the tone itself, but the scanner picks up every tiny flaw. If there is a little gob of adhesive, or a speck of dust, the scanner will see it as a black blob.
Sorry, 600 dpi, not 60!! (geez!!), maybe try once to scan with grays instead of bitmap? bitmap really picks up everything!
The ad is not there now. it was creepy, said “You are not crazy SW” but that was it, is not there now.
Strongly disagree about scanning high res black and white with tone sheets at greyscale. Moires are murder, and greyscale picks up far more than bitmap. IMHO. Lines print much cleaner scanned as bitmap.
