Not a happy story.
Some of my peeps know I had a long term stalking problem. An obsessed fan tried to insinuate himself into my life in a variety of bizarre ways, which were both disturbing and terrifying. This affected not only me, but family and friends.
I was interviewed, along with friends and family members, for the show Stalked: Someone’s Watching last summer and the episode will air on December 12.
The producers went through piles of old letters and evidence, which I assume they will use on the show.
This was not a fun thing to do, but I hope the program will do some good for others.

dang, I would need expanded cable to get that channel. Hm.

It is horrible.
For what it’s worth, what I admire about you (other than your talent) is that you seem to take your various bad experiences and make them into cautionary tales for others, hopefully keeping them from being caught in the same web and/or know things to do to get out of it.
Thanks. Was surprised how upset I got doing this show. It was very unpleasant pulling out all that evidence. Hope I never have to look at it again.
Ouch, my sympathies I’ve dealt with this sort of thing before and the wife had to deal with it very recently at her job when a customer started stalking her. It’s getting more common, and unless you’ve been there someone can’t really appreciate how creepy and unnerving it is.
I am so sorry to hear about your problem, Toby! You have my sympathy.
I mentioned this stalker problem before on the blog, but not in great detail. The whole story is bizarre and long and unpleasant. As per usual, there are always people in fandom who subscribe to the Geek Social Fallacies ( http://www.plausiblydeniable.com/opinion/gsf.html ,) so I guess this will provoke another round of meanie pro picking on fan. But when the whole story comes out in the show (though I have no idea how this will be edited,) the truth is not nearly so simple. And it is the most bizarre stalking case I ever heard of.
For those in the know, this is the same stalker Harlan Ellison tried to get rid of for me. Unfortunately, even the ire of Ellison didn’t keep this goober at bay forever.
