I love how everyone in the second panel is looking studiously off in different directions.
I BEG YOUR PARDON? Actually, I’d prefer to be an “animal” than one of the hierarchy. I’ve met more good and honorable cats and dogs (and even the occasional rabbit) than I have bipeds! At least Vinyr is being realistic, like it or lump it. So perhaps Eshi needs to go back to sleep because obviously she’s happier in her dream world than in the real one.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Eishi is actually extremely powerful. In which case, THEY are happier with her in a dream world than in the real one.
Unimaginable psychic power; tightly constrained intelligence. Or, roughly translated: “The lights are on, but nobody’s home.”
I agree. Eshi is probably Niniri’s ace in the hole… against the rest of the hierarchy, especially if one of the others tries to leverage power and oust Niniri.
