I doubt she was EVER really in control of Seren because she was never in control of Etan or Aeren. I think the bunch of them are not as in-control as they assume they are. They won’t be able to control Liana and they certainly won’t be able to control Jason. The only difference is Liana would bide her time and hit them when it hurts the most.
Emeris, if you have to ask that now, you haven’t been following this comic. tsk.
It seems lobotomizing the Avatar is not an option.
I think lobotomizing an Avatar would look bad in ceremonies, nobody would believe their God is a drooling zombie.

interesting: Eshi asks for water, Niniri orders wine instead… here, have more depressants…
Wine, though, might have a few more nutrients and sugars that (let’s face it) Eshi really needs.
