I’m having massive troubles with my Hughesnet modem and was on the phone with a tech today, a very nice gentleman from India. We spent a lot of time waiting for stuff to cycle and reload, and while we did, we talked about Thanksgiving. He’s never had turkey, and I love Indian food. He’s in Mumbai, and I’m in Appalachia.

Most pleasant online tech experience I ever had.

At The New York Times, chefs have recreated Marilyn Monroe’s unusual, Sicilian-based recipe for stuffing. I’ll have to try that sometime.

When we gingerly tossed everything together in our largest bowl (the recipe yielded more than 20 cups), we were amazed to discover one of the most handsome stuffings we’ve encountered…Moreover, the mixture was delicious, a nice balance of vegetables, meats and bold seasonings, just faintly, tonically sweet from the raisins.

Meanwhile, on Staten Island New York, an invasion of wild turkeys.

We have a number of wild turkeys here on the farm. They have the run of the place, and are wont to come close to the house. Great, majestic birds, but camera shy.
