Another commission sketch, and another official Lord of the Rings Masterpieces sketch card. I’ve kept most of the cards back saving them for a special occasion to sell, and they sell very quickly. I didn’t even have time to put this on the open market!

I know blogging has been light lately, and I apologize. I am deep in drawing mode.

I also have a bunch of hardcovers I really need to ship, so it’s busy, busy here.

I have so many sketches and commissions to get out of here, I could just blog that for weeks. Maybe I will.

In the meantime, if you want something to natter about, here’s yet another article about Geek Culture and its sense of persecution and Special Snowflake status. Now they complain they’re being victimized by raging hordes of good-looking people who can’t possibly be geeks, and are therefore evil capitalist geek plants.

I’ve already expressed how I feel about this subject.

Elf King Art for Christchurch Earthquake Relief

I hope you like this art enough to buy a t-shirt. Because I have donated all proceeds from the sale of this image to THEONERING.NET’s efforts to raise money to help the people of Christchurch, New Zealand. Get t-shirts, prints, posters, cards, and even an iPad case. Which I want.

This color art has never been available before, and I will never make this image available for sale anywhere else.

The shallow 6.3 magnitude quake centred at the port town of Lyttelton struck at 12.51pm last Tuesday, killing at least 154 people, with police expecting the final toll to reach “around 240″.

BTW, you can CUSTOMIZE the way you want the art to appear on the product, such as moving the image about, making it larger or smaller, and adding text. If you don’t like white borders on your postcard, or greeting card, just move the image about, and they are gone.

For example, the iPad case shown has a wide border around the image.

Hobby Shop owner rips off LOTR titan Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings films, miniature collector and uber-fan, patronized Detroit suburb’s Michigan Toy Soldier shop for his collecting needs. Store owner Rick Berry paid Jackson back by running up $189,000 in fraudulent charges on Jackson’s American Express credit card.

Berry claimed he needed the money to keep his suffering business afloat after a business partner embezzled money from his shop, leaving him in dire straits.

Berry also claims he didn’t believe Jackson would notice the unauthorized charges, most of which were used to buy more merchandise for Michigan Toy Soldier. He says he intended to pay the money back when his business recovered.

Someone is ethically challenged.

Berry pled guilty to the charges and will be sentenced next week.

Mr Jackson is in hospital undergoing surgery for an ulcer.
