ADS was the comic that I traveled hours if not days out of my way when I found out an issue was published. There were times when I would come home with 2 or even 3 issues at once because trying to find a comic shop that carried it was a rare treat. I have a subscription for it at Imperial Hobbies in Richmond BC and I hope they remember that when the next issue comes out. 🙂 I support my local comic shop even though it isn’t that local. *laugh*

Amen, Carla. I’ve said it before, and I’ll go on saying it: A Distant Soil is one of the finest comics ever. It’s complex and compelling, with beautifully realised characters, artwork that shines with crystal clear storytelling, and a script that demands careful attention and repays repeated readings.

I don’t know if I speak for anyone else here, but ADS was a formative work for me. It’s nice to go over the stuff that lit me up when I was a teenager bit by bit and discuss it.

Years and years ago, I was sitting in the passenger seat of a car, reading my newly acquired booty when the driver cranes his neck over and has to read what I’m reading. Thankfully, the car was stopped at a red light. The light changed and he was still reading the comic over my shoulder. I quickly closed my issue and yelled at him to pay attention to driving. I figured I could wait till I got my ADS fix – it was a lot safer! Your work distracted him that much.

A few years ago, the same friend was nominated for a bad driving show and denied this ever happened. The funny thing is that I am certain it was that page I was open to or at least that issue. So, you’re mentioned to a tv studio in Canada as being the reason why someone deserved to be Canada’s Worst Driver.

Your work is so good it drives people to distraction. *snicker*

BTW, I really appreciate all the comments about my work lately. It’s very inspiring to have you guys coming here and sharing your opinions. I don’t know if I can relate just how important that feedback is, and how much it helps give me energy for my work.

“Seasons of Spring” will eventually be completed, but naturally I can’t tell you what happened! LOL!

Yes, moving the blog took it down. All my old posts are goners.

I have to confess I don’t like the tone sheet patterns I put on Jessica’s dress in this shot, nor the foggy effect behind Aeren. Meh, too much.

The hatching and all other detail work are by hand.

Ooooo! I love this page. What happened to baby Etan? Did you get rid of the Seasons of Spring when you moved blogs? I was enjoying that storyline too.
