I for one LOVE dated pop-culture references! Done well, you get the point the author was trying to make, and they're a nice little meta reminder of history and the human side of creative entertainment. Someone (You!) put tons of thought and effort into this work I am now enjoying, and I get a little window into what life was like for that person, when they did the creating. I guess you could argue it's a bit of a dissonance, but it makes me smile and sit back and appreciate the work all the more!

I wrestled with the idea of removing the dated references from the comic, and then decided to leave them in. What the heck. My little time capsule.

Cripes, Brent is walking around with a FIRM t-shirt on for goodness sake, which back in the day did not refer to a butt-crunching exercise program.
