I don’t see any real improvement from the low res jpegs. A tad sharper, perhaps, but not significantly so.

I agree.
Also, the low res pages have a halo effect around every word. I cannot read them very well.
I should be able to reload all of the pages at their original resolutions within the next day or so. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
