Hi, Colleen! That is one of my favourite images of ADS. The first time I looked at it I think I spent some 15 minutes to admire all the graceful details, and I thought “wow! that must have taken quite some time to finish!” – happily it also provides big moments of visual enjoyment, probably proportional to the work invested in it!
I had an earlier version of this scene which I had donated to one of these marginal industry charities that never seems to do anything except issue press releases and give out awards. Since the charity really didn’t have much of a clue what I had given them, they sold it for $30.
I am a lot more careful about what I donate to whom now! Sigh!
Did this one not show on e-bay some years ago?
I seem to recall seeing it but it was at a time when I made too many commitments. But the memory is fuzzy.

Ah, ADS’s Franklin Booth — or Joseph Clement Coll — moment. Lovely.

I’m kinda sorry I sold this one.

I assume that it must have been up for resale. If I had seen it, I would have bought it back.

Delicious detail in this. The more time I spend looking in the background, the more I appreciate the pine needles and bark texture… Amazing!
