I have to ask- what did the baseball cap refer to? A mythical sports team called the Pilots? (There was the old Seattle Pilots team that led to Jim Bouton’s classic Ball Four.) Or am I missing something?
I am so enjoying this daily re-experience of ADS.

LOL! There was a small, Virginia based baseball team called the Pilots. I think it was the Peninsula Pilots at one point. Long gone and forgotten!
